    • HEINRICH D. GOOSSEN OBITUARY

      Heinrich D. Goossen, beloved husband and father, son of Franz and Susanna Goossen of Marion County, Hillsboro, Kansas was born November 1, 1911. He departed this life January 1, 1958, at 7 A.M. at the age of 46 years and 2 months.

      He was baptized upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ as his Saviour by Elder P. H. Unruh and received into the membership of the Alexanderwohl Church May 15, 1932. He joined the Meadow Mennonite Church on September 19, 1937, as a charter member to which he remained true and faithful.

      He enjoyed fairly good health until the 13th of September, 1954, when he was hospitalized. Diagnoses
      showed Leukemia. Thereafter, he was constantly under doctor's care.

      On Saturday December 28, 1957, he again was hospitalized and seeing the end was near, he expressed sincere blessings to his wife and children and to their future son-in-law.

      He was an active church worker such as council official, member of the Gideon International Scripture
      Replacements etc.

      He is survived by his wife, three daughters Luella May, Margaret Katherine who are attending Bethel College in Newton and Bernice Grace who is attending Meade Bible Academy. Two sons: Ezra Rufus and Emery Rein of the home and a future son-in-law Dwight Unruh of Newton. Eight brothers: Franz D. of Oakley, John D. of Marion, Abraham B. of Colby, Alvin L. of Colby, Ferdinand S. of Hillsboro, Edward D. of Colby, Cornelius D. of Oakley and Walter D. of Hulbert, Oklahoma. Nine sister-in-laws, two adopted sisters, Mrs. Walter Schmidt of Hillsboro, Mrs. Sam Ratzloff of Warden, Washington, nephews, nieces and
      a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother William.

      We will miss him greatly, but we will meet him again in eternity. Since he greatly believed in the power of
      prayer he often expressed appreciation for all the prayers on his behalf. He looked forward to the returning
      of our Lord and Savior but was eager to part from this life and to be forever with the Lord.

      It may be in the morning when the sun is bright and strong,
      And the dew is glittering sharply over the little lawn,
      When the waves are laughing loudly along the shore,
      And the little birds are singing sweetly about the door;
      With the long day's before you you are up with the sun,
      And the neighbors come to talk a little of all that must be done;
      But, remember, that I may be the next to come in at the door,
      To call you from your busy work, forever more.
      As you work, your heart must watch,
      For the door is on the latch in your room,
      And it may be in the morning I will come.
